It had been 10 years since Lee had used heroin that I know of. I don’t know why he started using again.  He was very frustrated and unhappy because he had a non-violent felony and couldn’t get hired for even the simplest job much less in his field. It was a waiting process for 7 years to lapse so he could pass a background check.
His choice led to poisoning by Fentanyl in our house. A vital part of my heart and soul is empty now. I’m trying to learn how to live with the grief I feel everyday.  Someday I will see and hug him again.
