Justus had been clean for a year and was beginning to get his life in order. He was working, had just got an apartment, and was getting a vehicle the next week. He was very discouraged with regard to seeing his daughter. He just could not see long term. All he could see was the current situation. There’s a saying “misery loves company”…he had a “friend” who fit that definition one hundred percent. If he wasn’t clean he didn’t want anyone around him clean. My son was encouraged to relapse with this person. He was poisoned and having chest pain and seizures in the presence of his “friend” but no one called for help. Instead he took an  Uber home to die by himself in his bed.
