Joey was truly a beautiful 17 year old boy. He was my first born and honestly taught me so much about life. Joey overdosed October 4th, 2020 for the first time. I was completely unaware that he was struggling with substance abuse. My husband performed CPR for 15 mins until the paramedics arrived. Thankfully they were able to revive him with narcan. We found out December 18th, 2020 that he was struggling. We placed him in an intensive out patient rehab for teens. He did great! Unfortunately he relapsed February 4th,2021 (exactly 4 months to the day from his first overdose). He thought he was buying a Percocet. His last google search was images of a real Percocet. He didn’t want to die. Sadly the dealer (3 are now indicted for his murdered) gave him pure fentanyl. I found Joey February 4th, 2021 at 10am. I knew I was too late. I lost my best friend.
