The defendant in our case is up for 2nd degree Murder.  He has been in jail since approximately two weeks after our sons death.  We have had the pretrial and are awaiting further court dates.  It’s a long process.  Our sons case was investigated as a Homicide from the beginning.  There were apparently unique things in his case that made this possible.  We are very involved now in advocacy efforts to try to help other families from living this heartbreaking reality.
